The Revised National Transport Policy (NTP) will promote innovation and adoption of new technologies in the transport sector – Deputy Transport Minister.

The Deputy Transport Minister  Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has said the Transport Sector in the country will see great innovation and new technologies with the revised National Transport Policy (NTP).

According to him, the present energy landscape is not stable posing the signicant challenge to the environment, economy and future generations.

Mr Asiamah further stated that, through collaborative efforts and in line with the National Energy Transition Plan, the Transport sector developed the national vehicle policy to guide the uptake of electric vehicles in the country.

Which will ultimately reap the full economic and social benefits of emerging technologies in the country.

According to the Deputy Transport Minister, the revised NTP was commissioned in 2017 in collaboration with other Transport sector ministries and with support from the World Bank.

Mr Asiamah made this known at the National Transport and Electric Vehicle Policies Regional Dessemination Workshop in Dambai on Thursday September 12, 2024.
