The National Sports Authority invested over GHC 200,000 to revamp the Accra Sports Stadium pitch, securing CAF approval for the up coming international break.

Sources reveal that the funds covered; fertilisers, enhanced labour force, soil upgrades and specilized irrigation systems just to mention a few.

To meet the tight deadline, pitch experts from Green Grass Technology worked around around the clock l, utilizing on-site makeshift accommodation.

The diligent effort enabled Ghanaian authorities to transform the venue, earning CAF’s approval to host the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against Sudan this month.

The Black Stars will take on Sudan in the round three of the qualifications on Friday October 11, 2024.

The upgrade follows Confederation of African Football (CAF) rejection of the Baba Yara Sports Studium due to its subpar playing surface.
