Scores of passengers and drivers have been settled at both banks of the Oti river in the Krachi East and Nchumuru districts following the current trend of the ferry working at night.

Drivers who normally wait in long cues after six (6) pm and the passengers who resorted to the small boats at nights at the expense of their lives are delighted about the recent development.

Mr. Daniel Andy Perprah Agyei, the Public relations officer of the Volta Lake Transport services, told kanofmonline that, the recent changes has been a long awaiting dream since several communities where they operated normally work into the night and Oti region is of no exception.

When asked how safe the travelling at night is going to be, he said, the authorities had put several measures in place to ensure the safety of the passengers and vehicles.

Mr. Adjei Boahen, a VIP bus driver was astonished on the recent changes and time extension. He thanked the authorities for working round the clock to ease the heavy traffic.

Meanwhile, some commuters, food vendors and hawkers were spotted doing their normal activities of selling to make ends meet
