The Korea Foundation for International Health (KOFIH) finances the Construction of a Maternity block and Staff quarters in Chantai an Island Community

The Korea Foundation for International Health ( KOFIH) has augmented maternal and child health care delivery in Chantai an Island community in the Krachi West municipality of the Oti Region.

The organization financed the construction of a Maternity block and Staff quarters to end the struggles of pregnant women traveling several hours by land or the Oti river.

The Deputy country director of KOFIH, Ms Chae Eun Kim expressed excitement about the completion of the project.

She said the mileston cement KOFIHs zeal to enhance maternal and child health in it’s operational areas across the country.

” I am so glad that we have a great collaboration with the Oti Regional health directorate and also I am sure that our collaboration will remain strong and helpful to the health sector.

“You know, we have a goal that health care services for everyone, for all, so I am confident that our Chantai CHPS gives the rightful health care service to all our communities” she said.

The Oti Regional health director Dr. Osei Kuffour Afreh recounted how women in the community had to travel in tricycles or on motorbikes and endure a harsh journey to deliver their babies.

An opinion leader in the community Mr. Ntsiri Asun extended their appreciation to KOFIH and Ghana health service for coming to their aid at a crucial moment
