In the 1940, Alhassan Dantata was the richest person in west Africa.

He worked with colanuts and build the Kano Groundnut Pyramids, each pyramid had 15,000 filled bags.

He was a supplier to the British trading companies.

Alhassan Dantata opened an account with British Bank of West Africa now first Bank in Nigeria with twenty (20) camel loads of silver coins in Kano Nigeria in 1929.

His great grandson, Aliko Dangote is the World’s richest black person.
