Empowering Youth; Former TVET Director General Supports Dambai Technical Institute With Sewing Machines.

The former Director General for Ghana Technical And Vocational Education and Training(TVET),Mrs Mawusi Nudekor Awity has donated ten (10) sewing machines to Dambai Technical Institute.

The Acting Regional Director of Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training  in Oti Region Mr Robert Amontcho who presented the items to the school on behalf of the former Director General on Thursday November 7, 2024 disclosed that the donation of the sewing machines is to support training of Dambai Technical Institute students  in TVET adding that, Dambai Technical Institute lacks some basic equipment hence the donation.

The Principal of Dambai Technical Institute Mr. Emmanuel Addo Kofi who received the items on behalf of the school has expressed gratitude to the Former Director for her kind gesture.

He has also called on parents to allow their wards to acquire TVET skills by attending Dambai Technical Institute to make them gainfully employed after completion.

Mr Addo however, called on other organisations and individuals to also extend help to the school as the school grapples with myriad of challenges.

Some of the students of Dambai Technical Institute who spoke with Kanofmonline.com, said the sewing machines presented will go a long way to help them in their practical works as they expressed joy over the presentation of the machines to them.

The Dambai Technical Institute is a Technical Institute established in 2017 by ICCES under the Ministry of Employment and Labour and was fully taken charge by Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service in 2023.

The aim of the school is to develop practical skills, and enhance employability of the youth by equipping students with specific skills and certification.
